To properly kick off December, we’re having a one day only sale in the shop TODAY! Take 25% off everything at scoutshonorco.com. Enter code: SNOW during checkout. Sale ends at midnight tonight (EST).

(Oh yeah, it’s a little thing called Cyber Monday but the word cyber is about as cool as my first screen name and 33% more creepy. I refuse to use it).
Happy shopping!

The Winter/Holiday Collection is live! I am so happy with how these cards turned out. I tried to capture the magic of the season – the emotions, the experiences, the stories – and pare them down into clean and simple designs (and take a few out of context, too – reindeer pairs as collegiate teams, anyone?). I hope you’ll find a few cards to brighten the mailboxes of your friends and family over the coming months.
I am especially excited about the cards that go beyond the holidays and celebrate Winter itself (since it’s pretty much Winter 8 months a year in Vermont). What could be more uplifting than receiving a handwritten note during the dark days of February? I hope you’ll agree, not much.
Check out the new collection here.

It’s a good day! After months of drawing, planning, designing, and toiling over every last detail, the Summer 2013 Collection has officially launched. I am SO excited to share these new pieces with you. Please head on over to the shop and check them out when you have a chance. Below are a few of my favorites from the Bait + Trails Set. Long live red, white, and blue.

P.S. Take 20% off your entire order now through the end of Friday (6/21) with the code SUMMER13. Thank you!

Getting excited for summer + weekend road trips… Maine is always at the top of my list. Below are a few pics from my visit to Cape Porpoise Outfitters last year. It’s a highly edited + inspiring antiques shop located in a quiet village within Kennebunkport (it’s also down the street from Nunan’s and Cape Porpoise Kitchen, yummm). The shop is filled with pretty much everything I love, not to mention it’s all housed in a gorgeous old barn. Now if I could only find a way to move in.

Happy December, everyone! We had beautiful snow here in Vermont this weekend… it’s really starting to feel like winter (I could not be more excited). Such a magical time of year: the lights on Church Street are glowing, the chairlifts are full, tree sales are everywhere, and I’m drinking hot chocolate like there’s no tomorrow. I moved to Vermont on December 1st many years ago so it’s an anniversary of sorts, too. I hope you’re all enjoying the season so far.
I just added a couple of holiday cards to the shop that I can’t wait to share with you! I’ve been working hard on the hand-lettering for these, aiming to make them fun, yet clean + simple in the end. I hope you enjoy them. Check them out here.

Thank you + Happy Holidays!

I’ve always loved this quote by the great Charles Eames: “The details are not the details. They make the design.” I couldn’t agree more. If you’re not paying attention to the details in your work, what’s the point? (at least for me). It actually scares me sometimes how the smallest of tweaks can take a design from good to great. I strive to find that ‘aha’ moment in every project when the design suddenly feels right and the direction becomes clear (oh, how I wish it weren’t so elusive sometimes). I found this CNBC documentary on J.Crew CEO Mickey Drexler to be reassuring and inspiring. Even at a brand as large as J.Crew and in a position as high as his, Drexler is still all about the details.
So today, my post on Oh So Beautiful Paper focuses on the finishing touches. In the world of stationery, that can mean a lot of things — but the final step is always the postage stamp. Read more (and humor my stamp nerdiness for a minute) over here.

This wraps up my guest blogging on OSBP for the week! I hope you’ve enjoyed the posts. I know I’ve had a great time diving back into photo shoots, styling, + blogging again. I hope to keep this momentum going… there are so many more things I’d love to share with you. In case you missed them, all of my guest posts are rounded up here.
P.S. Speaking of Eames and stamps, check out these amazing USPS stamps honoring the work of Charles + Ray! They were issued back in 2008. Man, do I wish I was paying attention to stamps back then. (Thankfully, there’s always ebay).
P.P.S. More stamp love.
Have a great weekend.

The guest blog-athon continues! Today on Oh So Beautiful Paper, I am sharing the wedding invitations and day of paper goods I designed for Krysta + Brian. This is definitely one of my favorite projects of the year. Not only was it diverse in media (ink, watercolor, and charcoal), but it was also an excuse to play with pattern. Being challenged to combine my methods and materials in new ways is always a good thing. For the full scoop (and a link to pics of K + B’s wedding!), check out the full post here.

I’m excited to share these screen printed journals with you on Oh So Beautiful Paper today! They were created by the talented Rachel Stewart of Domesticated Desk. Rachel’s work was part of the recent Iskra Print Collective show at JDK in Burlington. I stopped by the show this summer and instantly fell in love with these books. Seeing the entire series all lined up in a row was quite powerful… I was seriously tempted to buy the whole set. Luckily, I didn’t so there’s still a few left for others to enjoy (posters, too!).
Rachel is also one half of the team responsible for this rad biz card that I posted on Instagram awhile back. I can’t wait to see what she is up to next. Check out the full OSBP post here.

My second post for Oh So Beautiful Paper is up! This one features black and white bridal shower invitations that I recently designed for a client. I can never get enough of this classic, graphic palette. As much as I love color, b + w will always be my favorite. Check out the full post here.

More black + white.

Hope you all had a great weekend! I just got back from Woodstock, Vermont where I attended the beautiful wedding of my friends, L + N. It was one of those perfect fall weekends that makes you wonder why the other 3 seasons exist. I mean, seriously. I was fortunate to work with L + N over the past year, designing their save the dates, wedding invitations, and wedding day paper goods. It was an incredible experience and I can’t wait to share the final pieces with you soon! (there have been some sneak peeks on Instagram). But first - back to Monday and other fun news.
I am excited to be guest blogging on Oh So Beautiful Paper this week! Nole is on maternity leave (congrats!) so I’ll be sharing some of my favorite finds and custom projects over the next few days. I hope you’ll pop over and check them out. The first post is all about color inspiration - vintage red, white, + blue. View the full post here.
